Guerrero Street Playa Norte, Isla Mujeres
Quintana Roo 77400 Mexico
Cancun Airport:
When you arrive at the terminal follow everyone to customs (aduana). After customs claim your luggage and follow the signs to immigration (“Red light – Green light”). After immigration follow the crowds outside where you'll find taxis and transportation services. Request a taxi to Puerto Juarez (Gran Port with the Ultra Mar Ferry to Isla Mujeres). It will be $40 - $45 USD for the cab and you’ll have to pay in advance. You'll need to tip the driver separately. Approximately 20 minutes travel time to the Ferry.
Ferry to Isla Mujeres:
The ticket booth is on the right. Purchase a one-way ticket to Isla Mujeres (35 pesos or about $3.50 USD). The ferry runs every half-hour, but get a copy of their schedule in case you are in Cancun late as the times change after 9 or 10 p.m. The ferry ride is about 15 – 20 minutes depending on seas.
Arriving in Isla Mujeres:
You can walk a couple blocks to Ixchel, but if it’s hot and you have luggage it might be more convenient to take a cab. Be sure to ask for Ixchel Beach Hotel on Playa Norte (not Casa Ixchel which is a rental house on the other end of the island). If you’d like to walk, go straight on either Morelos or Madero until you hit Hidalgo and make a left on Hidalgo. At the end, make a right on Lopez Mateos and a left on Guerrero. Ixchel's entrance will be on the left. The reception desk is righ inside the lobby.
